Role Summary: The Driver Safety & Recruiting Coordinator serves as a frontline contact for both driver recruiting and safety support. This role is highly interactive and focused on daily communication with drivers, providing real-time safety coaching, compliance guidance, and log support, while also assisting with recruiting efforts and new-hire orientation. This position is ideal for someone who is approachable, detail-oriented, and confident in coaching drivers through safety, compliance, and company expectations in a fast-paced environment.

  

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Serve as a first responder for inbound and outbound driver recruiting calls, providing accurate information and routing qualified candidates appropriately
  • Provide daily safety coaching, including:
    • Compliance and policy coaching
    • Hours of Service and log support
    • Coaching related to safety events, violations, or trends
    • Ensuring accuracy and regulatory adherence
  • Assist drivers with questions related to DOT regulations, company policies, and safe driving practices
  • Support and assist with new-hire orientation
  • Assist with job fairs and recruiting events as needed
  • Help ensure permit books and required driver documentation are current and compliant
  • Participate in continuous improvement of safety and recruiting processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department objectives

 

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to coach, support, and influence behavior in a professional and respectful manner
  • Strong interest in safety, compliance, and helping drivers succeed
  • Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service, and ELD systems (or willingness to learn quickly)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Recruiting experience, a plus, but not required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk and reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch. Must be able to operate various standard office equipment including computer. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
